Information reaching Daily Guide indicates that the runaway Bongo murder suspect, Anyegre Atinga-Dombire has been grabbed in neighbouring Burkina Faso where he was hiding after his escape from the Bongo Police cells on September 16, 2013. Anyegre Atinga-Dombire alias Labista and another person in the cell escaped on that day, following which the Upper East Regional Police Command asked the police officer on duty that night to produce the murder suspect. Anyegre was reported to have stabbed Ayuah Atinga, 24, in the stomach and ear at Bongo Soe market, leading to his death on August 20, 2013, following a misunderstanding. The suspect then bolted after the action and could not be found until the night of Thursday September 5, 2013 when he was arrested in a house in Bongo, where he had been hiding. He was arraigned before a Bolgatanga Circuit Court and remanded to reappear on Wednesday September 18, 2013. But before his appearance on the said date, Anyegre broke jail, and vanished into thin air until he was smoked out of his hideout in Burkina Faso. Before the police arrested Labista in Burkina Faso, his elderly mother, father and two others had been arrested, remanded in police custody and refused bail. They were to reappear before the Bongo Magistrate Court on October 9, 2013. The last time the court sat on Wednesday September 25, 2013 to continue with Anyegre Atinga-Dombires case, the police could not produce him and the case was adjourned to October 9, 2013. Before the September 25 date, the court had called the case on September 18, for the first hearing, but the Bongo Police could not produce the suspect, because he had escaped from Police custody. At the time of filing this report, the murder suspect, Anyegre Atinga-Dombire and his parents were all in the Bongo Police cells and would appear in court on Tuesday October 9, 2013. The Police had refused to grant the parents bail, but with the arrest of Labista, they may breathe some air of freedom. From: Ebo Bruce-Quansah, Bolgatanga
