Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has intensified his campaign to occupy the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary position, stating that �I am a unifier and can help the party to win power in 2016.� According to him, the party needs a down-to-earth person like him to run the day-to-day affairs of the largest opposition political party. He said the NPP needs the support of every one to win the 2016 polls, insisting that �this great task calls for a general secretary that can unite the rank and file of the party.� Yaw Buaben Asamoah also said the next General Secretary of the NPP should be a team player who can energize the party�s members. The confident and experienced politician said he has skills that can help NPP to win the next elections. Speaking to Hello FM in Kumasi over the weekend, Mr. Buabeng Asamoah expressed his readiness to sacrifice his time and energy for the NPP. The 49-year-old politician insisted that he had gone through the mill and that with his vast experience in politics, he would lead the NPP to victory. He sternly warned the NPP against factionalism as the party is about to go to the polls to elect its national executives, stressing, �I am NPP boy so I don�t belong to any faction.� The astute politicians noted that factionalism has the tendency of creating deep cracks among NPP members, urging NPP members to conduct their campaign with decorous. According to him, he had worked with great men in the party, including the late Prof. Adu Boahen, ex-President Kufuor, Nana Akufo-Addo, Alan Kyerematen and the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama. Mr. Buabeng Asamoah promised to use his leadership qualities to benefit the party, stressing that as general secretary, he would work assiduously to catapult the NPP to victory in 2016. Mr. Buabeng Asamoah admonished NPP members, especially those eyeing positions in the party, not to hurl insults at each other during their campaign. The NPP would win the next national elections but the party can only achieve its aim when members stay united, he stated.
