ECOBANK Donates To Schools In Ashanti Region

The Ashanti regional branches of Ecobank Ghana has donated items worth over 20,000 ghana cedis to the armed forces senior high school and other selected schools in the ashanti region. The donations forms part of the bank's 25th anniversary and its corporate social responsibilities to the ghanaian communities they operate. Speaking to newsmen,the Harper road branch manager of the bank, Mr Asare Bediako described that the bank sees education as one of the important sectors of the country and as an institution they have taken it upon themselves to help promote the educational system of the country to enable students have access to quality education. Though the government is already doing a lot to help the educational sector, the burden cannot be left alone on him to be facing the challenges that is why we as an institution is doing this to augment the government's effort,he added. He advised beneficiary schools to make maximum use of the assistance provided and ensure that they are well handled and maintained for future generations to benefit from the school's facilities. Other schools which benefited from the kind gestures of the bank which include renovation,painting, and completion of some school blocks, text books and computers include the Armed forces senior high school, Komfo Anokye midwifery training school, Adventist Senior High school and Suame Demonstration Junior High School. Assistant Headmaster Academic for the armed forces senior high school, Mr Emmanuel Pamford who received the presentation on the school's behalf disclosed that fees collection has become a major challenge of the school as most parents who happens to single are finding it difficult to pay their wards school fees, he also appealed to the government and other corporate organizations to assist the school as they need more infrastructure to be able to absorb more students into the school. He extended his deepest appreciation to Ecobank Ghana for their kind gesture and promised that they will be put to good use.
