A 45 year old farmer at Nsawam Kyekyewere a village near Tarkwa in the Western Region has been butchered to death this morning for murdering her step daughter.
The farmer whose name was only disclosed as Kwesi is said have cut off the head of the Four year old Afua for ritual purpose.
According to one Mr. Boakwa an Uncle of the girl, Kwesi (now deceased) went to pick the sick girl from the mother (name withheld) who is his girlfriend in the pretense of taking care of her when they were going to farm.
The Uncle continued that, a family member who went to the house saw Kwesi killing the little girl.
He added that the boy raised an alarm which attracted some community members nearby. Kwesi sensing danger took to his heels but luck was not on his side as the crowd managed to arrest him.
Kwesi after being subject to serious beating was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital at Sekondi but died some few minutes after arrival.
Meanwhile the body of the little girl has also been sent to the same hospital for autopsy.
