NDC Foot-Soldiers Chase Vanderpuige!

Five youth activists of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) yesterday stormed the officers of the Accra Metropolitan Authority (A.M.A) in search of the Chief Executive, Alfred Oko Vanderpuige. They had come with a simple mission; to demand money! The five young men, according to eye witnesses, were so unruly in their demands that the beard A.M.A boss had to call for police reinforcement to relieve him. According to eye witnesses, business was going on as usual at the A.M.A soon after midday when the young men stormed the premises of the A.M.A on the High Street. At first we thought that they were on some kind of legitimate business, said the eyewitnesses, But then they demanded to see Dr. Vanderpuige. According to the witnesses, the thugs were directed to the office of the A.M.A boss, but soon after they heard shouting. We heard Dr. Vanderpuige exchanging words with them, and soon after, the police arrived to whisk them away, the eyewitness said. Since the NDC assumed power in January 2009, there have been countless reports of activists of the party going haywire and attacking party leadership. There have been reports of foot-soldier misbehavior from across the nation. In the last reported such incident, vehicles belonging to a district assembly were set alight by the NDC activists. In another famous incident, they stormed parliament to eat food reserved for members of parliament and other dignitaries.
