Prez Mahama: CID Is Questioning Indicted Officers In GYEEDA Rot

Named officials allegedly involved in corrupt practices at the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) are being questioned by personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service. President John Mahama who disclosed this on Tuesday also added that �dockets� would be prepared on those found to have engaged in any malfeasance and �given to the Attorney General in order that they will be prosecuted.� The officials were indicted in a report submitted by the ministerial committee instituted to investigate alleged fraud at the State agency following reports of questionable contracts the agency was said to have entered into with some private companies. "Those who were indicted in the report; I am happy to say the CID has invited them and commenced investigations,� the president announced at a gathering of Muslims at the Independence Square, Accra, to mark Eid ul-Adha celebrations. President Mahama, who reiterated his government's commitment to fighting corruption at all levels, urged Ghanaians to assist him in that regard. According to him, all issues of corruption brought to his attention are being duly investigated for appropriate action to be taken on them.
