In the wake of investigations into the circumstances that led to the mysterious missing of a customer�s life-time savings from her Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) dollar account, your authoritative New Crusading GUIDE has intercepted a police report that inferred that the office of the Attorney General advised against the prosecution of the matter. More so, the Public Relations Director of GCB�s headquarters in Accra, Mrs. Thyra Obuobi, assured that a technical team had been instituted to investigate the matter but was quick to add that the bank had nothing to hide. During previous daily checks, she said the report was almost ready and that it was only left with their Security Coordinator to officially provide his observations and remarks during the investigations. This paper can however, confirm that it has been seven months now and the company is yet to come up with their report. Mrs. Sandra Walker Kamkam Aidoo, the account holder, after several talks with senior ranking officers of the police CID to re-look into the case for prosecution had petitioned the Attorney General for redress. An analysis by our banking experts on the police report revealed that the police did not provide detailed information on their findings, but only gave three different account numbers from Ghana Commercial Bank. Also, the account numbers which were provided in the police report had no specifics and detailed transactions to indicate when monies were withdrawn and deposited. The police report, signed by one Supt. Francis Nyametso, for the Director-General of CID, did not deliberate on the authenticity of the claimed false cheques and thump-prints as was indicted by the complainant, but rather recounted the complaints lodged by Mrs. Kamkam Aidoo, and said the Attorney General had advised against the prosecution of the case. When this reporter met ASP Joseph B. Darkwa, the Public Relations Officer for the Police CID months ago, over the nature of the report and interpretations, he said it was possible for fresh investigation to be initiated if only the complainant would again petitioned the police. Again, a letter signed by Mrs. Marina A. Appiah Opare, a Principal State Attorney on 12thSeptember, this year, suggested it did not entirely advised against the prosecution of the matter, but rather advised against the prosecution of the two suspects, Ellen Beauty Ankama and Doris Owusu Asante, because there was no evidence provided by the police to implicate them. She however suggested that Mrs. Kamkam could pursue a civil matter against the GCB instead, for reimbursement of her �missing� �life-time� savings.
