From afar, Nana Oye Lithur fits to be described as a leader who has good human relationship. But from the current story that has emerged, we get to know the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection furiously banged her desk with her fist during an interaction with a �good Samaritan� over a baby. This hard to believe revelation came about when Jennifer Ofori(good Samaritan), took to the studios of Neat FM to narrate how a one on one confrontation with the minister turned out to be ugly and left her having a different perception about Nana Oye Lithur. According to Jennifer, on 4th October, 2013, she received a call from a friend informing her about how a depressed woman along the Spintex road was abusing her own baby. �I have pictures to prove and videos to testify to what I am saying. When we got there the baby had defecated and the mum didn�t mind changing her clothes. My friend even told me the baby�s mum severely abused the child by biting her,� she said. Out of fear, Jennifer stated that she teamed up with her friend to put the situation under control by rescuing the infant from her mum. But their first effort was thwarted when the depressed woman violently drove them away when they tried to get close to her. They managed to inform a policeman nearby about the situation but were told he couldn�t do anything about it nor assist them. They hurriedly informed a lawyer about the ordeal and were advised to first launch an official report to the Gender, Children and Social Protection ministry. Jennifer tells us together with her colleague, they did exactly what the lawyer advised them to do. �And as at the time we went to the ministry, we were told Nana Oye Lithur had travelled so we had to narrate the whole story to her deputy Rachel Florence Appoh�, she added. They became relieved when their meeting with the deputy minister yielded positive results. But after the positive results, managers of the Osu Children�s Home rejected to accommodate the baby when efforts were made to hand over the baby to them. �The managers of Osu Children�s Home drove us away when we got there. They told us they can�t accommodate the baby because they feared her mother could someday visit the place and harm them. They explained to us, they encountered the same problem and the mother of the baby later attacked one of their security men leaving him paralyzed,� she said. The extreme blow was yet to hit Jennifer Ofori and her friend when Mr. Christian Babooroh, the Director of Social Welfare called to warn them to immediately hand over the baby to authorities at the Osu Children�s Home. The development pushed them to call Nana Oye Lithur to inform her about the whole situation. Fortunately for them, received an invitation from the minister to come over to her office. Jennifer and her colleague honored the invitation but suffered the shock of their life when Nana Oye Lithur welcomed them with abusive words and insults which left a soar taste in their mouth. �For the first five minutes it was all about insults�she asked us several questions about how we had dressed �is this the way to dress to a minister�s office?� whenever we tried to talk she would bang her desk with her fist and sharply interject �will you keep quiet? You are not the people to tell me what to say. Only God knows how you dress on the street,� she said. Jennifer revealed she kept calm and advised her friend to do same since she feared exchanging words with the minister, could land them in deep trouble. She ended her story by revealing that if she happens to meet Nana Oye Lithur again, she would run for her life.�I really don�t know if she would box me the next time I meet her,� she added. However, attempts to get Nana Oye Lithur to share her side of the story didn�t materialized because she didn�t answer her phone.
