Goaso Police Arrest Pharmacist For Selling Expired Drugs

Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have arrested a pharmacist at the Goaso Government Hospital for selling expired drugs to patients. The police, acting on the orders of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) based on an information that the pharmacist was selling expired drugs to patients stormed the hospital premises and arrested Mr. Agyemang Badu (pharmacist). Confirming the news to Citi Fm Atiweni Mohammed, a journalist with Success FM in Goaso said the police seized 7-year-old expired drugs from the pharmacist when he was arrested. �Three big boxes of drugs were seized. The drugs included malaria drugs adding that some of the drugs were from Tobinco products� he said. According to the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) �some of the drugs had expired since 2006 but was being given out to patients at the Goaso Government Hospital.� He added that the pharmacist has since been arrested and the boxes taken to the police station.
