Sammy Awuku � The �Youth Messiah� Mobbed Kumasi

Sammy Awuku, who is vying for the National Youth Organizer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), over the weekend, stormed Kumasi to convince delegates to elect him in the party�s impending elections. The charismatic politician stormed the Ashanti regional capital on Friday with his famous �Boys Abre and Girls Abre� campaign slogan. He used the occasion to explain his policies to help the NPP recapture power in 2016. Mr. Awuku, who is highly regarded by the NPP youth across the country, was given a rousing welcome in the region. He spent two days in the Ashanti region and became the toast of the party�s delegates, Daily Guide learnt. During his short stay in Kumasi, Mr. Awuku and his lieutenants, managed to meet the Constituency Youth Organizers of the NPP in area, their deputies and the TESCON executives in the region at separate meetings where he thoroughly revealed his plans for the NPP. Though Mr. Awuku�s interaction with the NPP delegates took place at the blindside of the media in Kumasi, sources said that the delegates backed his candidature during the meetings. According to a source, Mr. Awuku met the constituency youth organizers and their deputies at the Ashfood Court Hotel at Bantama on Friday. Interestingly, members of the plenty who failed to attend regional party meetings reportedly attended this particular meeting. Mr. Awuku said if voted into power, he would campaign for the youth of the NPP to have a separate campaign programme, which would support the party to recapture power from the under-performing NDC administration in 2016, he said. He added that the NPP youth wing would be re-branding to encourage the youth to tour the nook and cranny of the country to garner votes for the party in 2016. The NPP Constituency Youth Organizers and deputies expressed satisfaction with the policies of charismatic and visionary Sammy Awuku and pledged to support his bid. The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP, Gideon Boako and his able deputy, Koduah, were said to be present at the meeting, which was well attended. Mr. Awuku, who exhibited strength, met TESCON executives from the various institution at the Kumasi Polytechnic campus. The source disclosed that Mr. Awuku gave assurance that the NPP would strengthen its data gathering systems, mentor the party youth and also implement plans that would make it feasible for them to easily take part in national politics after leaving campus. Stephen Amoah aka �Sticker,� one of the respected and popular NPP youth activities in the country and Dr. Nana Afriyie took part in meeting. Reports said the two leading NPP members urged the party�s delegates to support Sammy Awuku. Kwasi Kyei, the NPP Subin Constituency Communication Director, Gideon Boako and Kodua reportedly attended the meeting. The TESCON executives reportedly affirmed their unflinching support for Mr. Awuku. The paper gathered that some of the TESCON executives, after carefully listening to Mr. Awuku, christened him the �Youth Messiah.� Mr. Awuku rounded up his tour by visiting several leading radio stations in the city where he systematically explained his vision to help improve the NPP youth wing to eventually capture power in the 2016 polls.
