A Tarkwa circuit court has sentenced Kojo Poku, a 47- year-old illegal gold miner, to 30 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling two girls between the ages of six and eight at Nsueam in the Western Region.
He pleaded not guilty. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng that on September 9 the two girls were playing when Poku lured them into his room and defiled them.
Chief Inspector Tawiah said when the parents of the girls got to know of the crime they reported it to the Police and Poku was arrested.
