Abedi Pele Makes Up With Kwesi Appiah At Essien's Dad Funeral

Abedi Pele was in a warm embrace with Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah to break frosty relationships between the two Ghana legends at the funeral of Michael Essiens father on Saturday. The two ex Ghana internationals are perceived to have fallen out with each other following the exclusions of Andre and Jordan Ayew from the Black Stars squad for the 2013 Nations Cup. Abedi Pele earlier said he was disappointed in coach Kwesi Appiah at the time his boys were proving intransigent on their return to international football haven gone on a temporal sabbatical. This sparked reports of a rift between the two ex Ghana players with many tracing the roots of their fall out to the captaincy row while with the Black Stars. Kwesi Appiah was stripped off the Ghana captaincy which was later handed to Abedi Pele under strange circumstances. Both players have however since maintained cordial relationships between them until Andre and Jordan Ayew were dropped from the Ghana squad for the Nations Cup earlier this year. The two however appear to have buried the hatchet as they embraced each other while having a nice conversation much to the admiration of the crowd that had gathered to witness the funeral of Michael Essiens father. Essiens dad, James was laid to rest on Saturday at his hometown in Agona Odoben. The event took place just weeks towards Ghanas trip to Cairo to face Egypt in the second-leg of the World Cup playoff on November 19.
