Simon Asamoah Eyes NPPs National Youth Organizer Position

Following the wild chase for the NPP's National Youth Organizer position, equally vociferous challengers have popped up to take up the post. So far, names likes, Pius Eyonam Hadzide, the NPPs Volta Regional Youth Organizer, Emmanuel Attafuah, the current Acting National Youth Organizer, Gideon Buako and many other names have been mentioned as potential aspirants for the position. The latest to join the fray and openly declare his intention to contest the position is Mr. Simon Asamoah, the 2011 Parliamentary Aspirant for Juaboso in the Volta Region. Mr. Danso Asamoah, until now is the only aspirant from the Western Region competing to be National Executive Council (NEC) member of the NPP. He is said to be massively backed by the entire rank and file of the party executives from the Western Region. Even though many see Sammy Awukus chances as the brightest above other contestants, whose names have popped up, the fastest growing grassroots support for the onetime MP aspirant could be a major threat for Mr. Awuku, despite his effective communication skills. As it stands now, the youth Organizer race for the NPP is tipped to be between Western Regions Danso Asamoah and Mr. Awuku who is currently on nationwide tour busily lobbying for support. But the former University of Ghana Student Representative Council (SRC) Presidential candidate, Danso Asamoah told the Herald that he is convinced of winning the race. He said, his candid mission for the party is divine and sacred mission to put things right in my beloved NPP once and for all. And once my mission is accomplished, our next electoral defeat would be many decades away. He was emphatic that the youth wing of the NPP needs a comprehensive overhaul, adding that the youth wing we have now exists more in name than in reality. We need a youth wing that is very much equipped to play a pivotal role in our march towards victory in 2016. with me as National Youth Organizer, each and every constituency would have a youth Secretariat made up an Organizer and deputy as well as Secretary and Treasurer he said. According to him Mr. Danso Asamoah, the youth secretariats will be allowed the autonomy to plan their own programmes, stressing I am deeply convinced such a powerful youth wing will make our party unbeatable in future elections. Moving on, he said we in the NPP have always erroneously believed that a good campaign massage, coupled with a beautifully rolled out campaign, are enough to win us power. What we have refused to know is that in Africa where rolling out the best campaign does not necessarily win elections. He however started that going into 2016, our party urgently needs, a thorough and comprehensive change in electoral philosophy. Without this radical, thorough and comprehensive change in electoral philosophy, I am afraid our party will suffer even more debilitating defeats in 2016 and beyond. Mr. Danso Asamoah is also the President of Patriotic Revolutionary Youth of NPP (PRY-NPP), a newly formed pressure group aimed at radically changing the NPP. Mr. Awuku whose lavish living that recently sparked bitterness within the NPP youth after his luxurious mansion he is allegedly putting up at Nmai Djorn, near plush Trasacco Vally Estate in Accra, following The Heralds expose could cause his defeat.
