The Walewale District Police Commander has disclosed that Walewale Senior High School has remained calm despite yesterday's riot which saw properties worth millions of cedis being destroyed. He added that the D.C.E, Hon Zakariah will be visiting the school to meet with authorities. DSP Simon Peter Akabati who spoke to Hello FM'sKing Edward disclosed that a police officer who was badly injured in yesterday's riot was in a stable condition and currently receiving treatment. Though DSP Akabati could not explain the cause of the violence, he noted that unconfirmed reports say the Headmaster of the school got involved in some ethnic favoritism which angered the students. He added that the arrested students have been sent to Tamale and are cooperating fully with the Police. The Headmaster of the school has since left the school, DSP Akabati noted.
