"Speak Ewe Language With Your Children Doe Ajaho

The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Doe Adjaho has advised Ewe parents to speak the language with their children to promote it. He noted that most parents speak different languages with their children and as a result, most children are not able to express themselves in their native language. Mr Adjaho was speaking at the launch of the silver jubilee of Togbi Tenge Dzokoto the VI, Dufia of Anyako-Konu in the Keta District of the Volta Region, and Mamaga Miedoafe II, on Saturday Accra. The launch, which would be climaxed early next year with the celebration of the jubilee, was to inform and educate the citizenry about their modest achievements and their challenges and to prepare them for the final 25 years celebration durbar. Mr Adjaho commended the Chiefs and people of Anyako for their exemplary leadership and dedication to the development of the area. He said the throne of Togbi Dzokoto Gligui was a successful one and had brought lot of development to the town. Touching on peace, Mr Adjaho appealed to the Chiefs to ensure that there was peace within the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Global Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He pledged his commitment to bring the two groups together during their last Synod Session at Ho and I am appealing to you the Chiefs and people of the Volta Region to join hands to bring peace between the two groups'. Mr Adjaho said the Church had its root in the Region and it was therefore important for all to ensure that peace and unity returned to the two groups. Togbi Gligui said a cross-section of Kingmakers, Elders and patrons initiated the programme to celebrate their achievements and encourage them for better performance in the years ahead. He said it was easy to condemn poor performance but good performance was not normally appreciated. This is precisely the reason why I am highly impressed and deeply appreciative of the steps being taken by the Elders of the royal family to cheer up the chiefs and appreciate the good work they have been doing over the years, he added.
