Robbers Raid Pentecost Mission House To Steal Harvest Money

Four armed robbers wielding guns and machetes on Sunday night at around 1:00 am invaded the mission House of the Church of Pentecost at Nsukwao in the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region. The robbers attacked the security man on guard, Stephen Agambiri, 25, with machete and took away three mobile phones, two DVD players, laptop, a decoder and an unspecified amount of money belonging to the head pastor of the Nsukwao Assembly of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Emmanuel Nuvi. The incident occurred hours after the Church had held a special harvest ceremony during the Sunday service. Information gathered by the Daily Heritage indicated that, the robbers jumped over the fence wall of the Mission House, attacked the security man with the machetes and broke into the bedroom of the pastor through the windows. According to sources, the robbers pulled the machetes on the pastor and the wife and ordered him to hand over to them money accrued from Sundays harvest and other property. Since the offering cash was not sent to the Mission, the pastor had no option than to hand over his personal money to the robbers. The robbers inflicted cutlass wounds on the security man who was rushed to Koforidua Government Hospital and is receiving treatment. The pastor and the wife, however, did not sustain any injury during the attack. The case has since been reported to the Eastern Regional Police Command. The Regional Public Relations officer of the Ghana Police Service, Nketia Yeboah confirming the incident said investigations are ongoing. No arrest has so far been made. The police are, therefore, appealing to the general public to volunteer information that could led to the arrest of the robbers.
