Prez Mahama Used The Wrong Platform

President John Dramani Mahamas advice to his critics to join hands with him to fix the economy rather than raving and ranting on radio talk show programs has not gone down well with especially members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). An aspirant for the NPPs National Youth Organizer position, Richard Nyamah, believes the President goofed in his remarks due to the forum he chose to make those comments. President Mahama, last Sunday, called on his critics to join hands with him in finding solutions to revive the ailing economy instead of raving and ranting on radio. It doesnt pay to vent our frustration on radio talk show programs, the president chastised when he spoke as the Guest of honor at the 120th Anniversary celebration of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra. If we must to build a better and prosperous nation, all of us need to come together and act in concert, he stressed. According to him, the quest to build a desirous, prosperous and better Ghana is the responsibility of all of us. Commenting on the Presidents statements on Okay Fm, the NPP activist averred that President Mahama should have used the platform to touch on honoring God and also highlight the contribution of Catholic Archdiocese to the countrys development. He accused the president of speaking as though he was at a political rally ground; advising that the speech writers should choose proper occasion for the kind of speech the President delivers. President Mahama, could as chairman of Ghana Aids Commission, have addressed the gathering on the moral decadence surrounding his government and the country.the President is as guilty as anyone because he used every medium at his disposal from 1997 to 2007 to talk to Ghanaians about the activities of NDC, he said. The Chairman of the Young Patriots further stated that fixing the country should rather start with President Mahama and his appointees who misappropriate the tax-payers money and sit on radio and television explaining why the country is not running well. To him, the President has become the number one communicator now in the NDC since he is the first person to come to the defense of the party on any issue. .if the President considers speaking on radio as problematic, then he must do something about it by using his ministers as an examplehis appointees must act as communicators, leaving no space for the members in NDC to play that role on behalf of the government, he added.
