Nana Akufo-Addo Is Hale And Hearty - NPP UK

NPP has learned with utmost shock and deny completely as untruth a news item carried by Radio XYZ claiming a report from a Ghanaian-German Politician, Anthony Rau, that Nana Akufo-Addo has been warned by his Doctor to quit politics on health grounds following a heart surgery he underwent in London. NPP UK wishes to state that this is factually inaccurate and another wicked ploy and sinister plans created by the enemies of Nana Akufo-Addo in a long line of propaganda against the man. We wish to state that Nana Addo is in good health and attended the last NPP UK General meeting on Sunday 24th November 2013 to give us words of encouragement for our effort in keeping the torch of NPP burning in the diaspora. Nana Akufo-Addo arrived at the meeting in the company of Hon. Hackman Owusu-Agyemang former MP for New Juaben North, Hon. Nii Adjiri Blankson former Accra Mayor and Hon. J B Danquah -Adu MP for Abuakwah North In his speech he gave the background of the Supreme Court petition. He stated that as a true believer of the values of Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition he would not and could not have undermined the virtues of democracy and that was why he chose the democratic route of going to court, and when the court decision did not favour him, he expressed his disappointment but accepted the verdict. He admonished the party to continue to fight for electoral reforms to make future elections more credible. He said he was now on political "time out" and was using the opportunity to write a book which would be launched soon. Earlier on in the previous week Nana Akufo-Addo who is in London on a break from political activities, attended a private memorial service for the late Mrs Margaret Agyepong, widow of the late Justice Agyepong, one of Marty's of rule of law and the mother of Kwabena Agyei-Agyepong of NPP. We are therefore appealing to all Ghanaians to disregard this palpable falsehood by Radio XYZ or any eccentric characters as Nana Akufo -Addo is in very god health and full of enthusiasm and hope for Ghana under a future NPP administration after 2016. He will be joining a church congregation in an end of year church service with NPP UK on Sunday 8th December 2013 at the Bernie Grant Art Centre in Tottenham, London. Nana Akufo-Addo who is very well, has been very busy in London, occasionally travelling to USA, France and other places, interacting with international political leaders on the future of democracy in Africa. He has been attending public and private functions in and out of London and plans to see out the year 2013 here and return to Ghana in the new year.
