The Brong Ahafo regional Minister claims his life is being threatened by some unknown persons over the appointment of a new Chief Executive for Techiman.
He has denied influencing the appointment of Philip Amponsah as the new MCE for the area.
Paul Evans Aidoo said he couldn�t have usurped the President�s prerogative in appointing the MCE and wonders why his life is being threatened over the appointment.
�I am taking this opportunity to place on record that no regional minister in this country has the power to appoint a district Municipal or Metro Chief Executive� Mr. Evans Aidoo said.
He added that �the President shall nominate and then assembly members will have to confirm or otherwise. The duty of the regional minister is to facilitate the confirmation process.
�The curses, the insults and the threatening messages I have on my mobile�I don�t have the powers to nominate the Chief executive�.
