Tobinco Organizes Prayer Sessions To Ward-off Evil Spirits

Workers of pharmaceutical giants Tobinco, have organised a nationwide fasting and a prayer session to ward-off all evil attacks on the company. The prayer session is the new twist to the ongoing feud between Tobinco Pharmaceuticals and Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) over the reported importation of fake drugs into the country by the former. The regulator has ordered the closure of all warehouses belonging to Tobinco, a measure they claim will prevent the distribution of the fake drugs. But Tobinco is convinced the action by the FDA is nothing but witch hunting. They have proceeded to the courts for redress and have petitioned the president to intervene. But workers and management of the company are convinced the battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and forces of darkness. On Thursday the workers organised prayer sessions nationwide to seek God's intervention. At its Regional Head Office in Accra, the workers clad in red attire could be heard singing and praying in tongues. "We shake the foundations of any individual, human being or spirit," one of the prayer leaders was heard chanting. An official of the company, Daniel Quayecoo later told Citi FM, they were thanking God for his mercies and for him to intercede on their behalf. A similar prayer session was concurrently going on in Kumasi and in the Volta Region. Some of the workers said the ongoing feud is affecting the company.
