KMA Boss Rebuffs Police CommanderWalks Out On Him In Snobbish Fashion

It is always worrying when public officials conduct themselves as though they are above the law but it is even more disturbing when they exhibit brazen arrogance to law enforcement officials. That was reportedly the case, when Kojo Bonsu, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss was invited to report himself to the Asokwa District Police Headquarters, according to Supt. Nyamekye Adane Yeboah. when we (Police) called him (KMA boss), he came but did not come to my office but went to my Divisional Commander, instead. It was there he met the CID handling the case. It was there he was told by the Divisional Commander and the CID that I (the District Commander) was the one who invited him (KMA Boss) and not them. he was then directed to my office but he told the officers that he is running late for an important engagement and therefore cannot honour the police invitation the police officer recounted. Supt. Nyamekye Adane Yeboah, who is also a Reverend Minister, disclosed that Mr. Kojo Bonsu was invited after a complaint was made by Mr. Kwesi Addai Odike, in connection to a demolishing exercise the KMA undertook of a building which his company, Odike Ventures, was constructing for use as a private vehicle testing centre. Odike Ventures won the contract from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) under the authoritys private participation in vehicle testing for road worthiness. However, while construction was ongoing, the KMA demolished the building because the owner did not secure a building permit. Besides, it has been said that the project could affect future expansion of the Asokwa Interchange-Ahoodwo Roundabout road. Meanwhile, Supt. Yeboah has reported the matter to his superiors and awaiting a reply for the next line of action to be taken but many have condemned the KMAs Mayor decision to walk out on the Asokwa District Police Commander.
