Nunoo-Mensah Can Still Be Of Use To NDC Govt

Outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Activist, John Kumah has commended President John Dramani Mahama for reshuffling his National Security Advisor. Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah has been reassigned to the Human Security Department of the National Security Council Secretariat. His reshuffle follows several unbridled public outcries and rancor from the political domain, demanding the dismissal of the retired military officer, after he made some upsetting remarks about public sector workers in the country. Speaking to Peacefmonline.com in an exclusive interview, John Kumah averred that the reshuffle will help give Ghanaian workers breathing space from the likes of General Nunoo-Mensah. He opined that his removal from office is a step in the right direction, hence advising government officials to note that their tenure is transient. It comes as a huge sign of relief and the doing away with contemptuous attitude towards workers. And I think I welcome such news from the President and I think that more of such actions should follow suit...We do not need arrogance in office. I just pray that whoever is coming to take over his position will realize that public service is today youre in power, tomorrow youll be out of power. Therefore, they must serve the people of Ghana with humility and respect and any opportunity we get to express our opinion towards the welfare and development to the people of this country, we must do so with a measure of humility. Otherwise, we may pay dearly for certain comments that we make concerning issues in this country, he stated. He however disagreed with critics that General Nunoo-Mensah should go on retirement. This is because, according to him,General Nunoo-Mensah is one person who has also paid his dues to this country and he has worked hard. Every human being is fallible, they make mistakes and theyre punished for that. It doesnt mean he cannot be of use in another sector in government...He still can play another role to help the NDC government to serve the nation.
