British Airways Slashes Fares

British Airways has slashed its fares on some very important routes to Ghanaian travellers as part of its Christmas season package. BA will now charge $389 on its World Traveller (Economy Class); $680 on World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy), $1,699 on Club World (Business Class) with the ultimate differentiated service, First (First Class) going for $2,799 between now and early next year, the new Country Commercial Manager of BA, Mr Moran Birger, has announced. In addition, the airline, with more than 75 years of experience on the Ghana route, will introduce a larger capacity four-cabin aircraft, Boeing 747 on the Accra-London route in March 2014. The aircraft, which replaces one of the Boeing 777s currently on the route, would increase passenger intake from 124 to 235. In October, British Airways increased its daily flights from Accra to London to 10 times a week, with additional three morning flights which airline officials say offer choice and convenience to the travelling public. It also introduced a Boeing 767s to complement the existing Boeing 777 aircraft. Mr Birger told a section of the press in Accra last Monday that the expansions and enhanced services were a demonstration of our passion and believe in Ghana, adding that BA believed in the future of the country. A couple of years ago, the British flag carrier started a 5 billion worth of investments in its entire value chain from ground handling to lounges, food and on-board services. This also includes taking delivery of two new aircraft every two weeks.
