State Of Human Rights: A Case Of Ghana

The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has released it 2013 report on the �State of Human Rights� in Ghana. The report, which focused on Education, Health, Children, Orphanages, Harmful Cultural Practices, showed Ghana had made some significant strides to improve on the rights of it citizens although there is still more to be done. According to the report, an increasing number of health facilities are using initiatives such as immunizations and training in order to reduce maternal and infant mortality. On the negative side, the report said nearly 70% of participants interviewed agreed that men and women were subjected to widowhood rites some of which include sitting by the dead body till burial and forced starvation.
