Amir Complex Officially Opens For Business

Mr Julius Debrah, Greater-Accra Regional Minister on Friday said Ghana�s private sector is the driving force behind the country�s economic growth and is essential to achieving meaningful development outcomes. He, therefore, reiterated government's commitment to partner and support the private sector to accelerate the growth of the country�s economy, which would take people out of poverty and put them on the road to prosperity. Mr Debrah was speaking at the official opening of Amir Complex, a business complex at Kisseiman in Accra.. The complex which is an ultra-modern one has a hotel, restaurant, spa, travel and tour, boutique and all luxuries you can think about. He said the primary source of economic growth, job creation, government revenue to finance essential public services, and the goods and services required to improve people's quality of life. Mr Debrah also noted that private sector development promotes not only a stable and effective legal framework for enterprises, but also contributes to macroeconomic stability, helps create regional markets and a favourable climate for the development of private investment. He said macro-economic stability and sustainability were vital pre-requisites for growth, adding that the private sector must take a lead role in investment and growth in countries with high debt to reduce their fiscal and external imbalances. Mr Debrah urged business associations, trade unions and the media to initiate innovative ways to improve the competitiveness of the private sector. Mr Stanley Tannor, Managing Director of Amir Complex said the venture is to create jobs for the young people of this country and that Amir believes in excellence and the complex were build to international standards. He said the complex is a one stop place for holiday makers, as well as people who want to patronize all kind of goods and services to suit their standards. Mr Joseph Yammin, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed satisfaction about the development and improvement of the country�s private sector. Dr Kwabena Adjei, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, advised Ghanaians to stop reading partisan politics into private business that support the country�s economic growth. He appealed to Ghanaians to support government initiatives to transform the private sector and to develop Ghana to uplift the living standards of the citizenry.
