My Appearance Before CJ Committee Was Useful Sir John

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has described his appearance before the Chief Justices Committee probing the revelations into allegations of judicial influence against Nana Oye Lithur as a very useful and fruitful one. Mr. Owusu Afriyie had petitioned the Chief Justice to investigate claims by sacked Deputy Communications Minister Victoria Hammah, that the Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection Minister, Oye Lithur may have influenced the final verdict of the election petition case. Miss Hammah was sacked after a recording of her claims was leaked. Speaking on the Citi Prime News on Monday, Mr. Owusu Afriyie explained that he was made to speak to the petition and I just repeated what I said especially everything to do with the confidence in the judiciary. According to him, the members of the committee were very happy that I came and the exchanges have been very civil and very frank. Mr. Owusu Afriyie is scheduled to re-appear before the committee on Tuesday together with Nana Oye Lithur.
