Kotoko draw B.Y.C in Champions League

Asante Kotoko has drawn Liberian side, Barrack Young Controllers Football Club (B.Y.C) at the preliminary stage of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League. Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates that Kotoko will host the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at the weekend of February 7-9 before trekking Monrovia for the return fixture on February 14-16. The Porcupine Warriors could meet the winner of the tie between Ivorian Sewe Sport and Balantas de Mansoa from Guinea Bissau. Ghana�s other representatives; Berekum Chelsea who dazzled at last year�s competition at first attempt will also host Atlabar of South Sudan at the Golden City Park, Berekum on the weekend of February 7-9. Chelsea will honour the second leg in Juba on the weekend of February 14-16 at the preliminary competition that is roping in 52 clubs at the first stage. The former league champions could clash the winner of Libya�s Ahly Benghazi or Foullah of Chad at the round of 16. At the Confederations Cup, debutants Medeama set to use the Essipong Stadium, Sekondi as home will travel to Malabo for the first leg against Panthers of Equatorial Guinea on the weekend of February 7-9 before hosting the second leg on the weekend of February 14-16. The winner of the tie will face MAS of Morocco at the round of 16. Meanwhile, Ebusua Dwarfs will play host to Jaraaf of Senegal at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast on the weekend of February 7-9 before travelling to Dakar for the return fixture on the weekend on February 14-16. Dwarfs will face either African Stars of Namibia or Petro Athletico of Angola at the next level of the competition. Dwarfs and Medeama are among the 42 clubs drawn at the preliminary stage of the competition at the drew held in Marrakach, Morocco on Sunday.
