Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central and Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Rachel Florence Appoh has finally said �I do� to her longtime lover. The Deputy Minister and her lover of 13 years were put together in holy matrimony last Saturday December 13, 2013 at the Dr. Wayat Church of Pentecost in Accra. According to reports Rachel met her husband 13 years ago while she was studying at the Cape Coast Polytechnic and have dated on and off for about a decade now. The lucky man, whose name has now been added to the affable female politician, is Samuel Nana Opoku, said to be in his mid-thirties. Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that Samuel, who hails from Atiwa-Darko in the Ashanti region, works with an oil company, Halliburton as the Health Safety and Environmental Coordinator for the West Africa region. Some dignitaries present at Hon. Appoh�s day of joy included; the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Ato Ahwoi, Kwasi Ahwoi, Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Hon. Benita Sena Okiti-Duah, Education Minister Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, other Ministers and MPs from the NPP and the NDC, Gospel Musician Andy Frimpong Manso among others. The well-attended red and white ceremony was followed by a reception hosted by popular Radio Presenter Abeiku Santana and original Afia Schwarzenegger. Rachel Appoh has been in the news for some time now in a number of controversial issues including a misunderstanding between her and her boss Nana Oye Lither who is the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection over a supposed illegal child adoption issue. She was also one of most mentioned names in the controversial Victoria Hammah leaked tape popularly known as �Vikkileaks�. Honourable Appoh was back on the headlines again for leading to the arrest of her bodyguard Constable Nicholas Owusu Asante for stealing money from her bank account and he has been jailed 20 years.
