Teacher Attempts Killing A Taxi Driver

A twenty-seven-year-old teacher, Seth Akese has been arrested by the Akyeam Oda Divisional Police Command for attempting to slash the throat of a taxi driver, Kwasi Frimpong, 36, at Osorase in the Lower West Akyeam Municipal of the Eastern Region. The suspect who teaches at Osorase Railway Junior High School was on December 16, 2013 was remanded into prison custody by the Akim Swedru circuit court presided over by Mr. Atta Sampong. Meanwhile, the victim has been hospitalized. According to the Akim Oda Divisional Police Commander, Chief Supt James Sarfo Preprah, the suspect hired his victim, Kwasi Frimpong, a taxi driver from Accra to Osorase. At the Osorase guest house where both lodged in one room, the teacher at midnight pounced on the taxi driver and attempted murdering him by slashing the throat with a sharp knife. He said the police rushed there upon an alarm raised, but Seth managed to escape. Chief Supt Peprah said the victim was rushed to the Akim Oda government hospital, but was referred to the Kole-Bu teaching hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. He explained that two days later after the incident the Akim Swedru Police who had launched a search for the suspect who was on the run managed to arrest him at his hideout and subsequently arraigned him at the Akim Swedru Court. The cause of the suspect�s inhumane action is yet to be known.
