Former Black Stars� captain, Stephen Appiah, has received honours for his outstanding contributions to Ghanaian football and his community at second edition of the �Showbiz Honors�. The ceremony which was attended by dignitaries from the world of showbiz, sports, politics and business had former president of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor as the special guest of honour. The former president, who presented the main award to Stephen Appiah, described the retired footballer as a true example of good leadership, as he steered the National football team to two World Cup appearances. According to Stacy Amoateng, Executive Director of Emklan and creater of Showbiz Honours, Stephen Appiah was selected for honours this year due to selfless contribution to Chorkor, the community in which he grew up.
