NDC Govt Is 'Incompetent' Sir John

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie says government should not blame its failure to develop the economy on the legal process, but blame it on their own incompetence. What I hate to observe is the fact that when the government cannot carry its load, it blames it on its head gear. The fact of the matter is that, John Dramani Mahama never for a day stepped foot in the court, he said. According to him, government is not being truthful to Ghanaians when it says the eight-month long election petition impeded the countrys progress. His comments come on the back of reports of government blaming the election petition for its inability to fulfill its campaign promises. Government has indicated that the election petition cost the nation over $2 billion in foreign investment, slowing the growth of the economy. But speaking to Citi News, Mr. Owusu Afriyie stated that the growth of the economy stalled as a result of governments own incompetence. He mentioned that when the President was interviewed on the BBC he said the court case had not affected him in any way and yet eight months down the line, and 12 months after he has been sworn in as President; because he has not been unable to deliver, he continues to blame it on the legal process when indeed none of his ministers stepped foot in the court room. According to him, it is about time government concentrated on improving the lives of Ghanaians.
