Enter 2014 With Hope

Mr Kofi Mintah, a founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to put behind them challenges in 2013 and enter New Year with hope of prosperity. Do not let the challenges of 2013 dampen your spirit, but rather increase your determination to work harder in the 2014, he advised Ghanaians in a Christmas and New Year message released at Winneba. Mr Mintah who had been the Central Regional Chairman for the party for eight years called for hard and dedicated work from all Ghanaians in 2014. He said sacrifice played a leading role in nation-building and appealed to workers to sacrifice, saying; you must not always insist on demanding your pound of flesh since that had been the main cause of industrial strikes in the country. We can only build a prosperous nation through hard and dedicated work, Mr Mintah said and urged contractors to be dedicated in executing projects. He appealed to the government to rescind the decision to sack Zoil workers who had been assigned the duty to clean the beaches, saying; they had been doing a good job to make the beaches clean and are promoting tourism. Mr Mintah said it would be a big blow to the workers if they were asked not to go to work with effect from January 2014. The founding member said if the decision was not rescinded, it would affect the fortunes of the party in the next general election.
