Consumers of Electricity and Water are yet feel the impact of the quarterly increase of electricity and water tariffs. An interaction with customers at some vending points at Kanda, Accra Girls and Makola revealed that most of them are not aware of the increment. A few of them said they could comment after using what they have bought. The PURC last week issued a statement of an increase in the tariffs based on the automatic adjustment formulae. Electricity went up by 9.73% while water has been increased by 6.80% effective first January. However, the vendors refused to talk to Radio Ghana. According to them, they need clearance from their bosses. One of them however said he received few complaints from customers.
