The police have arrested Obed Ndoyela, the assembly member for the Deeper Electoral Area in the Nanumba north district of the Northern region for allegedly killing one person and also causing injuries to two others on Wednesday.
Obed Ndoyela is reported to have opened fire on the victims after the three accused his mother of being a witch.
Narrating the incident, Citi FM�s Northern regional correspondent, Mohammed Aminu, said four men came to Mr Ndoyela accusing his mother of being a witch.
He further stated that �they confronted him a [Mr Ndoyela] and out of the confrontation, a crowd broke out so he rushed into his room, brought out a gun, shot and killed one instantly while the other was seriously injured, then the third one was slightly injured.�
According to the Crime Officer for Bimbilla polling station, ASP Owusu Dumor, the deceased body is currently at the Bimbilla district hospital morgue while the two other injured persons are at the Yendi hospital.
He revealed that the Assemblyman, Mr. Ndoyela is currently in police custody assisting with further investigations.
