Mahama Is The Biggest Threat To NPP Yamin Asserts

Deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin says he is not surprised about the opposition New Patriotic Partys (NPP) description of President John Mahamas New Year message as hopeless. He said the president is the biggest threat to the NPPs quest to return to power in 2016 and the party has therefore marshaled all forces to make him unpopular and the country ungovernable. Joseph Yamin's comment is an apparent response to claims by General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie that 2014 will be a hopeless year under President John Mahama. Sir John as he is popularly called described President Mahamas assurance of better times in 2014 in his New Year message as a litany of empty promises meant to deceive Ghanaians. But on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Joseph Yamin said the NPP is gradually losing its relevance in Ghanas body politic. According to him, having failed to rundown President Mahama, the NPP is just clutching at straws just to keep hope alive. He contended that the success of the Mahama-led administration is an end to what he describes as NPPs operation win 2016 elections. The Deputy Sports Minister intimated that Ghanaians are appalled by such comments by leading members of the NPP whom he says are blinded by their insatiable quest for power. Political hypocrisy will destroy NPP; they have been in government before and they know the difficulties so I dont expect them to be behaving like this in opposition he bemoaned. Joseph Yamin noted that the economy is on the verge of take off following the prudent economy measures instituted to ensure fiscal discipline in government expenditure.
