COCOBOD To Address Concerns of Loading Boys

The management of COCOBOD will on Tuesday address the concerns of the loading boys who work for the company at their various stations. Last week, the loading boys who unload bags of cocoa beans from trucks refused to unload about 1,450 trucks loaded with cocoa beans in protest to poor wages and working conditions. The trucks are stuck at the terminal of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) at Apowa, Takoradi in the Western Region with each truck carrying about 600 bags of cocoa. The Head of Public Affairs of COCOBOD, Noah Amenyah in an interview with Citi News gave the assurance that the concerns of the workers will be looked into by Tuesday. He also revealed that his outfit has been in talks with the companies that �provide labour for the them at the two ports (Tema and Takoradi) adding that an evaluation of the situation will be done on Tuesday to ensure that work resumes.
