Security Man In Trouble Over Theft Of Alcoholic Beverage

A 21-year-old security man working with Guinness Ghana Limited at Kaase-Kumasi is in trouble with the law over the theft of some products of the company. Yahaya Mohammed had been arrested with 20 stolen bottles of the Guinness alcoholic beverage valued at GH�40.00. He was on Friday put before a Kumasi Circuit Court presided over by Mr William Boampong, charged with conspiracy and stealing and sentenced to a fine of GH�500.00. In default he would serve nine months in jail. He was additionally ordered to pay for the full cost of the stolen drinks. Yahaya�s conviction came after he had confessed to the crime. His accomplice co-worker, whose name was given as Frederick Koffie is on the run. Police Chief Inspector Rejoice Sumatu told the court that the crime was committed on January 1. The convict and his fugitive accomplice were caught on the footage of a closed circuit television (CCTV) installed by the company, carrying away the drinks. Yahaya was arrested but Koffie, slipped through.
