The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano South, Dr Hannah Louisa Bisiw, translated the non-partisan nature of the district�s concept into practice by organising an end-of-year get peace together for the members of the Tano South District Assembly irrespective of political affiliations. Heads of departments, National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency executives and other party faithful of the various political parties in the district took part in the celebration of the unity. Dr Bisiw, during the party, called for unity and support from the members of the assembly regardless of their political affiliations, to ensure rapid development in the district. According to the MP, who is also the Deputy Minister for Agriculture in charge of livestock, she wanted to be a legislator who would be remembered for ensuring peace in the district as well as pushing the developmental agenda forward especially in the field of education. Dr Bisiw assured of her readiness to work with all members of the assembly and called on all to let their expectations for the year 2014 be known so that together they could be achieved. She also advised the assembly members to regularly meet with the electorates to identify their peculiar problems for resolution, as fulfilment to the decentralisation process, as well as improving the chances of the members who desired to seek another term in office. The MP for Tano South commended the District Chief Executive, Zakari Bukari Anaaba for his good work towards the developmental agenda of the district. The Presiding Member (PM) of the assembly, Mr Anthony Opoku, indicated that the end-of-year get together organised by the MP had never happened in the history of the district, and added that it would go a long way to foster unity among the assembly members to ensure total development. He called on the assembly members to eschew political animosity and always think about the growth of the district as a priority. He commended the MP for the initiative to unite assembly members in such a unique manner. Mr Bukari Anaaba, for his part thanked the assembly members for their cooperation and teamwork in the year 2013 which pushed the development agenda of the district forward and appealed for the same level of co-operation in the new year.
