Black Bombers Has Not Received Money For Commonwealth Games Preparation

Reliable information available to Ghana Sports indicates that the Ghana Olympic Committee has not given any money to the amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers, for preparation for the upcoming 2014 Commonwealth Games to be staged in Glasgow in July this year. Our sources reveal that no money has been allocated to the team for preparation and even if such money has been allocated to the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association that has not reached the national team as the boxers are training without allowances. According to Head Coach Ofori Asare, the team has not received any money for preparations. Ghana Sports can however, confirm that 22 boxers have moved to camp and they are yet to be visited by president of the Association Ray Quarcoo. So far as I am concern, I have not seen any money as is being said about our preparation. We always train at the stadium as scheduled by my team, said the head coach. Even the technical director visited the team last week and nothing like money was delivered. We are still waiting for the said money for our preparation. Reports were rife that preparation funds have been disbursed to the various associations for the Games but this revelation about the Black Bombers is a cause for alarm.
