Appointment Of Ben Malor; A Vote Of No Confidence In Info Ministry

Central Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has described President Mahamas new appointment of a Senior Communications Adviser as a vote of no confidence. A statement signed by Mr Mahama Ayariga, Information and Media Relation Minister indicated that President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Ben Malor, a former BBC presenter and Chief Executive Producer of UN Radio as Senior Communications Adviser and Head of Communications at the Presidency. Many have criticized this appointment as government already has a Ministry of Information and a communication directorate. Kwamena Duncan told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Wednesdays edition of Kokrokoo that the new appointment means the Information Ministry did not do the work they were charged to do. Any government that means business will get their communication right from the onsetThis new appointment is a vote of no confidence in the Minister and his deputies; the new appointment means government is not satisfied with the kind of work they have done so farIt also means that the President is so worried about the happenings (in the country); how the economy is running otherwise what will prompt him to do that. It is because something is not going right, he indicated. He described Mr. Malor as a very decent person but added: he should understand that he has a huge burden on him. It might be one of the appointments he will not be happy to handle maybe in his lifetime.
