Executive Director of the West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP-Ghana), Emmanuel Bombande has called for a resumption of the Asantehene led Committee of eminent chiefs handling the Dagbon crisis.
His suggestion followed the joint celebration of this year�s Damba festival by the Abudus and Andanis at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi.
According to the Security Analyst, the celebration has built a solid foundation for talks to reopen and implement the road map to peace to reconcile the Abudus and Andanis.
Mr. Bombande told Citi News the world will be happy to see the Dagbon dignity restored again.
�I believe that if the healing, the trust building and the confidence building continue to grow it is possible that all the major outstanding issues that could not be completed in the process of the Manhyia mediation effort can now receive the type of mutual attention by both parties the Abudus and Andanis�
�When all those outstanding issues are dealt with including the funerals particularly what we also see as the skinning of vacant skins in the Dagbon traditional kingdom; we can now begin to talk about those concrete pillars to the full restoration of peace�
Mr. Bombande cautioned, �For now let us celebrate this with cautious optimism and continue to support and pray that the journey of healing and reconciliation has just begun.�
