Apostle Emmanuel Achim Gyimah, Kaneshie Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, is calling for a new wave of leadership with the required anointing to fuel the dimming fire in Christianity to impact the next generation. He lamented that modern Christendom lacks effective leaders who have vision and power to lead by example using their own lifestyle. �What is missing in contemporary Christianity that God is calling the church to fan the ancient fire to impact generation is effective leaders, who can minister the anointing and the power. We need visionary leaders in the church who can impact: receive from God and give to the church. That is what is getting missing.� Addressing the congregation at the Central Chapel, Adwen-Bu District of the Church of Pentecost last Sunday, Apostle Achim Gyimah said early Christians were empowered by the fire which manifested in the day of Pentecost. It is therefore, he noted, incumbent on the current generation to ensure that the fire that gives power is kept burning in their lives so that they can effectively do the work of God. The church service was broadcast live on Uniq FM�s Sunday Live Service. The sermon was centered on the 2014 theme of The Church of Pentecost: �Fanning the Pentecostal Fire to Impact Generations - 2 Tim. 1:5-6�. He also identified prayer and righteousness - a necessity to exhort a nation as stated in Hebrew 1:9 - as some of the important ingredients missing in later day churches. Apostle Achim Gyimah bemoaned the intrusion of lust and other forms of sins in the church, and prayed that Christians surrender themselves wholly to God so that the Almighty can cause the fire to burn all vices gaining root in Christianity. The Area Head also charged church leaders and Christians in general to emulate the lifestyle of early Christians, who spent time to wait upon the Lord and create a personal relationship with God. Through this, he said, God would reveal Himself to them and use them in many ways to move the work of God forward. Expatiating on the ancient Pentecost fire, Apostle Achim Gyimah said the fire indicated the presence of God - Holy Spirit - appearing to either bless or to judge mankind. �So when we talk about the fire, it stands for two things: God�s presence to bless you or to lift you up, and to judge you.� For instance, he said, the fire that came from heaven to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah was meant to punish them. Likewise, the fire of God will judge and punish people, who sit in the house of God and sin. �We pray against any intrusion of homosexuality in Ghana and across the world. We don�t want to revisit that time when God punished Sodom and Gomorrah", he quoted Genesis 19 to back his sermon.
