For the inhabitants of Manso Bebuabowa in the Amansie West District of Ashanti, the latest news making the rounds is the snatching of a brother�s wife from him by his own sibling. The woman at the centre of the controversy is Yaa Botwe who is married to Kwadwo, a mason, with four children. The younger brother who has taken over his senior brother�s wife is known as Daniel. The genesis of the case is that there was a brawl between Kwadwo and his wife that led to the woman vacating her husband�s room and putting up with Daniel in the same compound. For one month, Yaa had been sleeping in Daniel�s room, washing his clothes and serving him in several capacities. Yaa was said to have been deeply engrossed in the relationship with Daniel. Narrating his side of the story to �Nya asemhye� a programme by Fox FM, Kwadwo said in June last year, a misunderstanding ensued between him and his wife. Consequently, his wife left their room for Daniel�s room. Within the period, neighbours detected some amorous relationship between her and Daniel, and reported it to him (Kwadwo), which he dismissed. The fracas, he said, was resolved and Yaa returned to her matrimonial home, but he realized the relationship between her and Daniel was growing stronger and stronger. According to Kwadwo, about three weeks ago, he got back home from work in the afternoon, to find the �two love birds� locked up in his own room. �I banged the door for almost five minutes, before my wife opened it, only to deny me entry, but if forced my way in, and found my younger brother sitting on the bed�, he remarked, sobbing. He, thereupon, informed his mother who initially doubted the allegation until she also realized Daniel and Botwe were actually Romeo and Juliet, and consequently moved Daniel from the house to stay at Bodomase, for peace to prevail. But, that did not go down well with Yaa, so she brought Daniel back to the house. When Yaa was called on the programme, she denied being in a sexual relationship with Daniel and accused her husband of maltreating her. Yaa claimed she brought Daniel back to the house for employment in a block manufacturing factory, since he was unemployed.
