Do The NDC Believe In Social Democracy?

Social democrats are those who think of the ordinary people and how to solve their problems. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) made Ghanaians to believe that, their agenda is to make life better for the ordinary Ghanaian and that is why they made Better Ghana their Agenda. But what is happening now in Ghana is Bitter Ghana Agenda. The question is, for their five years in government, are Ghanaians better off, under their administration? Many Ghanaians are finding it hard to make ends meet. The fundamental problem since 2009 is that, there is always over-optimism, wrong projection, clear incompetence and fake assumptions by the NDC government, and that is why Ghanaians are suffering. Data available shows that the blame for the current economic difficulties is squarely in the area of economic mismanagement by the government. The economy declined in five years under the NDC administration. Fiscal deficits over the years have been significantly higher than most countries around the world in terms of the share of the GDP, at a time when the government has access to more financial resources in terms of tax and non tax revenue as well as borrowing, the economy is declining drastically. And as if to add salt to injury, the government has borrowed more money than previous governments in the last fifty-two years, aaaahba. And the cheek of it is that, Parliament approved a whopping $14billion loan agreement under the last four years, and there are more loan agreements before parliament. Also, excessive borrowing from the domestic market means the government is competing with private companies. The economy in 2012 ended with 12% deficit and a record expenditure over eight billion Ghanaian Cedis. With the additional taxes, government lived beyond its means, due to reckless expenditure such as over spending at the Office of the Presidency to the sum of GH 600 million as well as GH 300 million overspent at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, etc. Everyone can see that corruption has taken hold of the moral fabric of the nation. If its not GYEEDA its ISOFOTON or SUBAH, not forgetting WOYOME and SADA which has also given birth to NKOMFEMISM, a new type of socialism practiced by the Ndc. By this, the government has decentralised corruption through the CREATE, LOOT AND SHARE mechanism. As recently reported elsewhere, our motherland Ghana is ranked 63rd out of 177 countries in the global corruption perception index. Poverty is worsening under the social the so-called democrats. Living condition of Ghanaians has deteriorated. From January 2013 to date, we have seen astronomical increases in utility prices, affecting the average Ghanaian in every aspect of their daily lives. There is a fall in the country's currency and GH 2.55 is equivalent to a dollar. The prices of fuel keep increasing almost every other month, although we are an oil producing country. VAT currently has seen 12.5% increment, with additional National Health Insurance Levy Component of 2.5% which sum up to 15%. This means vat stands at 17.5%. Things have fallen apart and the centre cannot just hold under the Ndc. Service providers for the school feeding programme have not being paid and the caterers are also in the same soup and has led to the closing down of some schools in the Northern Region. I nearly forgot that contractors have also not been paid. My question is where is the quality of education the NDC government is falsely propagating, when children from the northern part of Ghana, where the president comes from, cannot attend school and are migrating to the southern part of Ghana as Kayaye, the most inhuman labour of our time. The onus rests on President Mahama and his Ndc government to find antidote to the public outpouring of frustration and misgivings now or never and make the lives of the under-privileged better, since the average Ghanaian is living in great disappointment. The sad reality is that the less-privileged in our country have been abandoned under the NDC government and left alone with no social intervention at all. Although the government knows the country is not on the right direction, they still resort to propaganda which even the un-schooled can see through. No wonder some members of the NDC are calling for the removal of the Finance Minister, Hon. Seth Terkper. Well, they should rather call for the removal of the president and the whole Ndc. Although the NDC calls itself a Social Democratic party, they are nowhere near that accolade. The best fit should be Akonfem Socialism, which pre-supposes that Ghanaians need a change of government in 2016. We need someone who is competent to be at the wheels and not only drive in first gear for over five years. How incompetent can a president be? Enough is enough; get off the steering wheel for a competent person to take over.
