MPs Continue To Express Concern About Delays In Completion On JOB 600 Project

Members of Parliament continue to express concern about delays in the completion of the JOB 600 Project to provide offices for them. The MP for Ablekuma North, Justice Joe Appiah rekindled the issue on the floor of the House today/yesterday. He said it is unfortunate that MPs continue to operate from their car boots. The MP for Ayawaso North Major Rtd. Dr. Mustapha Ahmed received a big no from his colleagues when he suggested that the offices be allocated for the MPs to use their Common Fund to furnish them. The House in 2013 approved a 24 million dollar loan agreement between the Government and Fidelity Bank for the completion of the building. The Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho said a lot is being done and that the Minister of Finance has informed him that the legal issues which came up in securing the loan for the furnishing has been resolved and the Money is now available for the completion of the work.
