Ghanaians were ushered into 2014 with distressing messages from government that tariffs on electricity and water have been increased. Right after that increment, it was announced that the price of petrol will be the next commodity to shoot up and this had an unbearable effect on the economy. It is on this note that a member of the Progressive People�s Party has called on President Mahama to step down and pave way for �bigger minds� to step into his shoes. Mr. Charles Owusu, in an interview with Peacefmonline.com stated that should President Mahama hand in his resignation letter, he can be assured him that the entire nation will welcome it and even organize an expensive send�off party for him. The PPP activist added that an edict will be issued preventing people from using him as a laughing stock should he tender the letter in. He further stated should the president take this bold step, all presidents who come after him will know that the �presidency isn�t about a joke and messing up a vibrant economy�.
