A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), David Asante, has described the prayer offered by the Presiding Bishop and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM), Archbishop Duncan-Williams, for the revival of the Ghanaian currency as an indictment on the professional competence of President John Dramani Mahama and his economic team. Leading his congregation in last Sunday�s Church service to pray for the recovery of the fast depreciating local currency, the Presiding Bishop and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM), said: ��I hold up the cedi with prayer and I command the cedi to recover and I declare the cedi will not fall; it will not fall any further. I command the cedi to climb. I command the resurrection of the cedi. I command and release a miracle for the economy�. Archbishop Duncan-Williams also led his church to pray for President John Mahama, Finance Minister Seth Terkper and Central Bank Governor Dr Henry Kofi Wampah, for divine help and guidance to salvage the cedi. �In the name of Jesus, say Satan, take your hands off the President; take your hands off the Central Bank and the Finance Minister. Say we release innovation for the President, my God, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Central Bank, in the name of Jesus Christ the son of God, the Finance Minister. Say we command new ideas, breakthroughs and a miracle for the economy. Let the cedi rise in Jesus name,� he led in prayer. Commenting on the prayer offered by the Archbishop for the soul of the cedi, the NPP communicator averred on Okay Fm that the prayer seems to suggest that President Mahama, the Finance Minister and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana are short of ideas to manage the economy. To him, the man of God rightly mentioned the names of the people responsible for the free-fall of the cedi but was not bold enough to tell them to their face that their incompetence and poor management of the economy is the underlying cause of the depreciation of the currency. ��what Archbishop Duncan-Williams has done is that, he has really indicted the professional competences of these three men. He mentioned their names and it is an indictment to their professional competences; they should bow down their heads in shame because the Archbishop is calling their professional competence into question as his prayer is showing they lack common sense to man the economic affairs of the country,� he asserted.
