678 Staffers In Government

There were exactly 678 presidential staffers at the Flagstaff House as of December 2013. The list was submitted to Parliament by the Presidency. This is in line with Section 11 of the 1992 Constitution and the Presidential Office Act 1993 which enjoins the Presidency to annually brief Parliament on the list of persons who work at the Presidency. The list include ministers of state at the presidency, persons working directly at the office of the president, senior presidential advisers, presidential staffers, presidential aides, Gardeners, night watchmen, and household staff. The list which was presented to Parliament Wednesday also includes chief directors, staff from the Ghana Health Service, Controller and Accountant General�s Department, among others. The list included five ministers of state like Fifi Kwetey, Rashid Pelpuo, Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansa. The Chief of Staff, Executive Secretary to the president and Secretary to Cabinet are among the 24 names submitted under the Office of the President� staff. Four persons were named as senior presidential advisors. They are Dr Sulley Gariba, Paul Victor Obeng, Issifu Baba Kamara, and Cadman Mills. The register also has names of nine presidential staffers with persons such as Dr Kpesa Whyte, Emelia Arthur, Clement Apaak, and James Agyenim Boateng making the list. Stan Dogbe, Vincent Kuagbenu, Kofi Ofori were named as Presidential aides. The tall list also mentioned William Kwasi Aboah as the National security advisor, Dr Nii Moi Thompson as a Presidential Advisor as well as late President John Mills� brother, Dr Cadman Mills who is also a Presidential Adviser.
