The Tema Magistrate Court presided over by Isaac Adjie has ordered the police to provide proper care for Abraham Oyoko Kwame Baah, the 25-year-old man arrested over the murder of Rosemand Nyampong, a Stanbic Bank staff at Baatsona along the Spintex Road in Accra, since the accused person�s health is deteriorating. According to the court, �the accused person�s health is deteriorating and he must live to face prosecution. The accused should live to face prosecution - Police, you should ensure the guy lives to face prosecution.� The presiding judges was quite alarmed that the health of the accused was failing and could die if proper care was not given to him. Abraham Kwame Baah, a self-styled auto-electrician who is on provisional charge of murder, told the court that he collapsed in the prison and was rushed to the Police Hospital in Accra for immediate medical attention. Inspector Cecilia Mensah, prosecutor in the case, assured the court that the police would ensure that proper healthcare was given to the accused in order to enable him to face the full rigors of the law. The suspect has been remanded into prison custody again to reappear on March 13, 2014 after a lawyer, Charles Kwasi Acheampong, decided to defend him free of charge. The Attorney-General is yet to give its advice on the docket sent to her outfit as the court waits to open application on the case. It will be recalled that on November 21, 2013, Rosemond was found dead in the kitchen of her residence at Baatsona obviously dressed for work. She was found with her mouth gagged with a piece of black cloth, with signs of a struggle before she was overpowered as she was believed to have been struck in the eye, which dazed her, before she was attacked. After several hours of her failure to report to duty, her colleagues and family members reported to break into the District Police Command who assisted to break into the house of the deceased, where they discovered the lifeless body in a decomposed state. Police investigations led to the arrest of Abraham at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region where he had sent the victim�s Toyota Yaris saloon car with registration number GT 5133-10 to a washing bay. Police investigations also led to the discovery of some items such as home theater system Plasma television and mobile phones belonging to Rosemond, in the room of Abraham, a few houses away from Rosemond�s. He told the Tema Magistrate Court during his third appearance that he committed the deadly crime solely after he had pushed the deceased from behind to the ground, gagged her and strangled her to death. Rosemond was buried on December 14, 2013 beside her father, who had died some six months earlier, at the Osu Cemetary in Accra.
