Mahamas Govt Is Full Of Student Politicians And Foot Soldiers

An Aspiring National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Michael Ampong has described the administration of President John Dramani Mahama as full of student politicians and foot soldiers who appear to have no inkling how to transform the economy in the midst of the current financial challenges. President Mahama on his Facebook Wall wrote that the depreciation of the Ghana cedi was not caused by decisions his administration took and attributed it to the Global Financial System. Regarding the depreciation of the Ghana Cedi, I want you all to know two major things. First: this is not caused by our national decisions. We are part of the global financial system and so we share both its ups and downs. Since the beginning of this year, several countries, with stronger economies than ours, have seen their currencies depreciating due to the moves of international players on the stock market. In January, for instance, Argentina's peso fell more than 20%, Turkish lira lost 6%, the South African rand fell 7% and so did the Russian ruble. In January, for instance, Argentina's peso fell more than 20%, Turkish lira lost 6%, the South African rand fell 7% and so did the Russian ruble, the president wrote on his Facebook wall. Reacting to this on Okay Fm, Michael Ampong averred that President Mahama and his team have no excuse not to perform as the 2007 and 2008 global economic challenge was more severe than the current crisis, adding the discovery of crude oil in commercial quantities should make things easier for the government to perform. He stressed that the ability to campaign effectively during an election should not delude one into thinking that governance can be manage in that same manner. The moment you have foot soldiers and student politicians forming the next government then you have a problem. Most of the ministers we have today have now started advancing themselves academically. I will urge Mahama not to mess up the opportunity given him as a young man to govern the nationbecause should he fail, his administration will be an albatross around the neck of every youth who nurtures any such ambition to rule the country one day, he said.
